Axelina Swenson, MAPE leader, Windom Park-I am proud to endorse Dan Englehart for District 1 of the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board. Dan is not just an advocate for the environment and sustainability, but an advocate for everyone to have access to the green spaces that connect all of us in Minneapolis. As a proud labor supporter, he understands how important it is to have connections to workers, improving the lives of those who support the parks so all of us can continue to enjoy them. Dan does not just see the value in our robust parks system, he actively participates in it. Dan is the leader you are “most likely to randomly run into” at a park on any given day - and it has happened - a lot. What you should know about Dan before you vote for him, is that he is not only a supporter of all our local communities, creating safe spaces for all, he actively participates in creating these inclusionary spaces by working with community members where they are, soliciting feedback and openly accepting feedback. He is also a pragmatic and thoughtful problem solver, good at working with a budget, smart about how he approaches new challenges and believes that we are stronger as a community when we are ALL part of the community.
